Wilfred is an environmental and resource management specialist with over 20 years professional experience in environmental management and development, and is passionate about humanity living in harmony with nature, which would make existence of all forms of life to be sustained. He has worked on vulnerability assessments, environmental (climate change) investment planning, environmental monitoring and action planning and; water resources management; and environmental and social impacts assessment for civil and public building projects, beneficiary assessments of new sanitation technologies. He worked as an Environmental Specialist for public sector projects which led to preparation of state of environment reports, action planning and micro-project formulation at community, district and national level. He has also undertaken various Environmental & Social Impact Assessments and safeguard audits, beneficiary assessments and baseline studies for public and private projects and activities.
Some of his research and consultancy activities involving social and environmental attributes have been in the area of: • Greenhouse gas accounting from agriculture for development of Tier 2 factors • Climate change mitigation and adaptation in Sub-Saharan African ecosystems funded by the EU. • Risks and benefits of utilization of human compost in agriculture research. • Solid waste management studies. • Design of small scale wastewater treatment for small scale household use. • Environmental and social impact assessments for secondary schools’ project. • Global Environmental (GEO) Reporting under United Nations Environmental Programme’s GEO4 and GEO5 projects.
