Looking back on his time at MUST, Joshua Isaac describes his journey as one filled with challenges, growth, and valuable lessons.
When he joined MUST in 2021, at the age of 18, Joshua was excited but also unsure of what to expect.
Like many first-year students, he had concerns about the demands of engineering and whether he would manage the workload.
However, through hard work, determination and faith, he learned that challenges can be overcome with commitment and perseverance.
The engineering journey came with many challenges, including a heavy academic workload and moments of doubt.
However, Joshua remained focused, spending many hours studying and working towards his dream of becoming an engineer.
Beyond the classroom, Joshua found opportunities to develop as a leader. He served as a class representative, gaining important skills in communication, teamwork and working with both students and lecturers.
He was also actively involved in the Catholic Students Organization (CSO), where he served in various leadership roles, and he currently supports the organisation as the Executive Coordinator.
Through CSO, Joshua discovered the importance of service, responsibility, faith and supporting others.
He believes student organisations play an important role in helping students grow academically, socially and personally.
Joshua also encourages more young women to consider careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), saying engineering is a field where everyone can succeed.
Now a final-year Metallurgy and Materials Engineering student at MUST, Joshua continues to encourage fellow students to remain focused and never give up.
โSuccess does not come easily, but with perseverance, commitment and faith, it is possible,โ he says.
His journey is a reminder that every achievement begins with patience, dedication and courage to keep moving forward.
