Stella Cadono, a Master of Engineering in Applied Chemical Engineering student at MUST and beneficiary of the TAGDev 2.0 program scholarship, is gaining international exposure through the 2026 Earth Observation Satellite System Design Training Course organised through European Space Agency (ESA).

The training, being conducted in Belgium, is equipping Stella and other participants with knowledge in earth observation, satellite systems, radar remote sensing, electromagnetic waves, antennas and hyperspectral imaging.

The practical sessions are also providing insights into how satellite technologies can be applied in monitoring the earth and understanding environmental changes.

Although the training is a separate opportunity from her Master’s studies, Stella believes the knowledge gained complements the broader goals of TAGDev 2.0 program, particularly in promoting skills development, innovation and climate resilience among young professionals.

She expressed appreciation to MUST and the training organisers for the opportunity, noting that the experience is expanding her understanding of how engineering, technology and environmental science can work together to develop solutions for global challenges.

Upon completion of the training, Stella looks forward to sharing the knowledge and experiences gained with fellow students and young innovators at MUST.
