The African Drone and Data Academy (ADDA) at MUST on April 18, 2025 celebrated the graduation of its fourth cohort of young engineers from the Young Engineer Academy.
Seventeen young engineers, aged 12 to 17, received certificates after completing a weeklong intensive training program.
The training program focused on drone operations and innovation development, empowering the young engineers to address real-world challenges.
The Young Engineer Academy targets primary and secondary school students, providing them with hands-on experience in engineering and problem-solving.
During the graduation ceremony, the students showcased their projects, presenting various types of engineering they had learned during the training.
Addressing the graduates, Dr Chikondi Chisenga, National Coordinator for ADDA and Acting Dean of the Ndata School of Climate and Earth Sciences, urged the graduands to utilize their newfound skills to make informed career choices and solve problems.
Dr Chisenga also encouraged the graduates to share their knowledge with their peers.
"Be the ambassadors of MUST and ADDA," he said.
This initiative highlights the ADDA's commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators and engineers.
