THE JOB

The incumbent shall manage students and staff religious welfare. The position is on part-time basis and on two-year renewable contract.

DUTIES

  • Provide leadership in the general management of the religious associations and their activities;
  • Provide pastoral care, psycho-social support and counselling to students and staff;
  • Coordinate religious associations and activities in liaison with the Students Council and University management;
  • Preside over University religious functions such as thanksgiving, welcome, memorial and farewell services while always mindful that MUST is a multi-faith institution;
  • Working closely with the Dean of Students’ Affairs and Wardens on sick and bereaved students;
  • Contributing to the development of policy and guidelines on students’ and staff conduct;
  • Advising University Management on matters affecting students and staff religious affairs;
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

MUST is a multi-faith institution and the successful candidate shall be expected to practise their roles and duties with utmost neutrality. Interested candidates must be ordained ministers in their respective religious organizations with a good Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field from recognized institution of higher learning. Those with a Master’s degree in Theology or related field will have an added advantage.

TENURE OF THE POST AND REMUNERATION PACKAGE

For all the above positions, the successful candidates shall be engaged on a two year renewable contract based on satisfactory performance. The candidates shall be offered an attractive salary and benefits commensurate with seniority of the position and qualifications in line with the University’s Conditions of Service.
