The Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) has the following vacancies:


1.1 Malawi Institute of Technology:
  1.1.1 Head, Department of Engineering
  1.1.2 Head, Department of Computer Science and Information Technology

1.2 Ndata School of Climate and Earth Sciences:
  1.2.1 Head, Department of Climate Sciences
  1.2.2 Head, Department of Earth Sciences

1.3 Bingu School of Culture and Heritage:
  1.3.1 Head, Department of Language and Communication Studies


The successful candidates shall report to the Executive Dean of their respective school and exercise leadership, demonstrate vision, and empower others in order to translate university strategic plan into reality. They shall also be the lead persons in translating MUST vision, mission and objectives into tangible and observable deliverables; develop and implement departmental strategies emanating from the university strategic plan; manage staff and resources; initiate the development of new academic programmes and review of existing academic programmes; manage the implementation of existing academic programmes; handle students’ assessments, and assist in staff recruitment in their respective departments, among other duties.


MUST is looking for academics at Senior Lecturer level or higher and with a PhD qualification from a recognised institution of higher learning and in relevant disciplines.

This is an opportunity for those who are results orientated, able and willing to make a long lasting impact in higher education development in Malawi. It is also an opportunity for academics on sabbatical leave or on leave of absence in their respective universities who want to contribute to this young and dynamic University.
